In the Side Pole test, the car tested is propelled sideways at 32 km/h into a rigid pole.

Update 2024: The Renault Espace is a partner model to Austral (HEV) and their structure is practically identical. Euro NCAP concluded that the Austral HEV Mobile Progessive Deformable Barrier test results could be applied to the Espace.
